Going with the flow versus taking control
In the past, I have usually taken control. I decide on what I want and then I take action to make it happen. More recently, however, I’ve been learning about the power of letting go of control. Sometimes the universe seems to know what’s right for me.
The question is: how do I know when to take control? And when to just let the universe decide?
What occurred to me just now is that I am part of the universe. So, in some sense, even when I take control, the universe is still deciding. It’s just that the part of the universe that’s deciding is me.
So when does it make sense to let parts of the universe other than me decide?
Presumably, the universal will is more intelligent than me. There is a natural flow to things. But the universal will also doesn’t have my best interests in mind.
To what extent should I be taking action to satisfy my own desires? Or should I be using my energy to achieve what the universal will wants?
And again, I am part of the universe, so what I want is also part of what the universe wants.
There are two sides: desire and ability. When do I trust the desire of the universe and when do I trust my own desire? When do I trust the ability of the universe and when do I trust my own ability?
