Online business is basically a video game
Old video games had “cheat codes.”
If you pressed the right buttons in the right order on the controller, you could unlock bonuses, advance to the next level, etc.
I’m realizing there are similar cheat codes for online business …
It’s all key presses and mouse clicks
Most of my daily work as an online solopreneur can be boiled down to three actions:
Pressing keys on the keyboard
Moving the mouse
Clicking the mouse
From a physical perspective, the actions are simple and easy.
The real work is the mental processing that determines:
What keys I press, and in what order
Where I move the mouse, and when I click
One exception: video calls
80% of my day is key presses and mouse clicks.
The other 20% is video calls.
On video calls, my actions are:
Listening
Talking
Body language
AI-generated video is progressing quickly.
But I don’t think we’ll see AI avatars successfully running sales calls for at least 5 years, if ever.
Even if AI-generated video gets REALLY good, there may always be demand for talking to another human.
Clicking the right buttons in the right order
Clicking the buttons is the easy part.
The hard part is figuring out the right buttons and the right order to click them.
Once you’ve figured that out, you can write a script for a program to do the button-clicking for you.
It’s all software
The keyboard and mouse are a convenient interface for humans in the physical world.
But what’s really happening is lines of code being written and edited.
And the software has gotten to the point that it can do the writing and editing on its own.
Money is online
It’s possible to make money with nothing but a laptop and an internet connection.
Different ways to make money online:
Stock trading
Crypto trading
Ecommerce
Courses
Affiliate marketing
SaaS
There’s a lot more than that, but those are just the ones I have experience with.
Conclusion
If you know the cheat codes, you can essentially click the right buttons in the right order and money will flow from the internet to your bank account.
