Swarner Park in October

A poem

A flock of leaves
Flew from the tree
In a breeze 

Well, they fell
More than
They flew

They didn’t
Flap their wings
Or squawk

So “flock”
Might have been
A misnomer

Since publishing my most recent collection of poetry, The Art of Sidewalking, I’ve been focusing mostly on writing short prose. But today, this little poem fell in my path, like one of the October leaves it’s about.
