The trees undress as we bundle up
It’s been getting colder in Kansas these past few weeks, but today it was sunny and semi-warm. I took a sleeping bag off the shelf in the garage where we keep our camping gear and laid it out on the grass in the backyard. I lay in it and looked up. It is the halfway point of fall, as the trees are in the middle of unabashedly undressing. I watched the branches sway in the gentle breeze. The sound of all the leaves rustling was like applause for their friends that were falling, somersaulting through the air like Olympic divers.
