When she came back
From the bathroom
She put her hands on my shoulder
And stood on her toes
To tell me,
"I could still hear
The womp womp womp
In the walls"
I could only see her face
For a second
As the lights strobed
Then darknessÂ
That has no beautyÂ
No senseÂ
Just nothingÂ
For my eyes at leastÂ
My ears still thudÂ
And then the lights again
And her face
And beautyÂ
How does the light shine
In mid-air
Like there’s something there
To catch itÂ
Hold it
Have it happen to beÂ
The blue, green
Yellow I can see
SwirlingÂ
Revolving around the roomÂ
With my eyes closedÂ
Everything else goesÂ
Except for the musicÂ
