When you're ready, ask yourself, "What do I want?"
The question is simple, but the answer is not always obvious.
Take as long as you need.
Take the energy that you were investing into doing and let it flow toward being.
We focus our consciousness on so many other things—on our work, on others, on our surroundings, on distractions.
Hold space for your consciousness to explore your inner world as you ask yourself, "What do I want?"
What thoughts come up?
Let go of the urge to analyze your initial thoughts.
What do you feel?
Where is that feeling in your body?
Go there with your consciousness.
Settle in there.
Spend some time with that feeling without having to describe it in words.
Keep asking yourself the same question, "What do I want?"
You might be feeling the pressure to come up with an answer.
If the answer isn't immediately obvious to you, you might start to feel anxious, as if the teacher has called on you in class and all your classmates are watching.
Let go of all that.
Let go of the pressure to know the answer.
For now, just spend time with the question.
Let it be open-ended.
Let the sound of the question echo as if it were asked aloud in a large room with tall ceilings.
Find somewhere comfortable to relax in that room.
Listen to the sound of the echo as if it were music.
What do I want?
What do I want?
What do I want?
Let answers flow through without holding on to them.
Let answers come from outside of yourself.
Ask yourself again, "What do I want?"
Maybe an answer has come up for you.
Maybe many answers have come up.
Or maybe there are no answers.
That's okay.
Enjoy the experience of exploring your desires.
There's no need to rush.
Take as long as you need.
