I hear that "find your niche" advice about writing often. It is smart from a business perspective, but it would make me crazy to only write one genre or about one topic. In fact, I did that for several years when I published a popular guitar website (which is a fairly broad niche.) But after a few years, I couldn't stand writing about guitars anymore, and I LOVE guitars. So I shut it down.
If you have to niche, be sure to do other things as well. Because you will get tired of it.

Yeah, I love variety too much to niche. But I am not a famous writer either. 🤣
