I was listening to an interview by a skate boarder who said all the best skaters aren't pro; because once you get deals and sponsorships, you lose the hunger that makes you push things to the limit. I'd say it all depends on your motivation for doing art.

I love this! I've watched some of the skateboard documentaries by Thrasher Magazine and they're often skaters I've never heard of, but they're so wicked good. I agree with you about motivation too.

🤣 Not really. I just get obsessive with new hobbies. I have only really been writing for about three years. But I have built up a pretty good stockpile. I have slowed down recently (sort of.)

I think three years is past the threshold of "new" and qualifies as "medium-term" :) I'm about to dive into Issue 57 of MMM! By the way, how do you get emojis in your comments?

If you use Mac, you select control/command/space bar all at the same time to bring up emojis. I have no clue on Windows or Android. But there must be a shortcut for it also.

On iPhones and iPads, there is a little smiley icon under the virtual keyboard. That brings emojis up.
